New Moreno Bill to Increase Penalties on Criminals Who Assault Police Officers
WASHINGTON – Senator Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) will introduce the Larry Henderson Act, which would set a new mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years in prison for anyone found guilty of assault on a federal officer. The legislation also establishes federal jurisdiction over these crimes as exclusive and preemptive, superseding state or local prosecution for federal officers. “Enough is enough.
