WASHINGTON – Senator Moreno (R-Ohio) will introduce a resolution banning sitting United States Senators from participating in prediction markets.
“Any Senator who comes to Washington, D.C. to cash in, play the markets, or treat public office like a side hustle is a betrayal to the people they swore to serve,” said Senator Moreno. “If you’re here to enrich yourself instead of fight for the American people, this a clear abuse of power and you have no business holding public office.”
Senator Moreno’s resolution will modify the standing rules in the Senate to prohibit Senators from entering into any financial deal where the outcome depends on whether a specific event does or does not happen.
