WASHINGTON – During the HSGAC Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations hearing this afternoon, Senator Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) grilled Hawaii Governor Josh Green, who oversaw devastating lockdowns and school closures as the state’s Lieutenant Governor.

Highlights below:

“Schools are important, let’s just get that out of the way. So why would you close schools, which you did, Governor, when no children died of COVID? What would make you make that decision? You closed schools. The impact on that was generational – you and the other governors that closed schools destroyed the lives of children,” Senator Moreno said when questioning Green.

Was it a mistake to close schools? Simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer,” Senator Moreno pressed Green, who refused to answer the question.

“Show me the science that says that when I walk into an airport in Hawaii – and I didn’t want to tell you because it’s none of your business whether I had a COVID vaccine or not – that I had to quarantine for 14 days. Tell me the science behind why you locked your residents up and did not allow them to go grocery shopping. Why you closed your beaches and your parks. I would love for you to put that science into this record,” Senator Moreno said when questioning Green.
