On Republicans work to make America more affordable:
“The gut punch that the working-class took in this country over the four years of Biden can’t be overstated. They totally and completely gutted our working class. They brought in millions, ten plus million foreign workers, caused a housing crisis, caused an insurance crisis, [and] caused a food crisis. Then they did all the things that they did during Covid, which just created an incredible amounts of depression among young people. Raised the price of automobiles. Now one of the things we have to be straighter with the American public is fixing that four years of total, complete disaster was not going to happen in a couple of months. So, what we have to do though, is move with total and complete urgency to make that happen. I believe that’s the good news, certainly I can speak for the Senate Republicans, is we are driving towards that at 100 miles an hour.”
On President Trump’s tariffs reviving American manufacturing:
“The experts have been so catastrophically wrong this year. Look you go back to Liberation Day in April. You remember what they said? ‘The economy was going to collapse. This is going to be a 1929 depression. America’s over. This is it. Throw in the towel.’ And we have not seen inflation go the way it has. I could name a hundred CEOs that have been in my office, we’re building in America because the tariffs. I had a dinner last night with a gentleman, [who said] we used to make this in Canada, now we’re making it in Ohio. We used to make this in Mexico. Now we’re building it in Ohio. Why would we be against that? I guess the only reason to be against that is if you’re from Mexico or Canada, but if you’re from America, it’s like you’re going to bring more good, high-paying jobs to the United States. That is fantastic.”
On the Trump Doctrine for the Western hemisphere:
“[What] President Trump is saying, is very simple. If you want to poison American citizens, we’re going to kill you first. If you want to kill Americans, we’re going to kill you first. We are not going to allow narcoterrorism. We are not going to allow international criminal gangs. The idea that Hezbollah and Chinese gangs have a presence in Latin America, like we’re going to turn a blind idea on that, that’s insane. What he is doing is unleashing a wave of conservative movement in Latin America that will pay massive, massive dividends. It is going to end illegal migration. It’s going to allow us to be self-sufficient…So let’s take advantage of this hemisphere. From the tip of Argentina to the tip of Canada, have this incredible bilateral relationship where America leads and America benefits.”
