WASHINGTON –Today, during the Senate Banking Committee’s confirmation hearing for HUD nominee Scott Turner, Senator Bernie Moreno (R-OH) secured a commitment from Turner to survey the longstanding housing crisis in Cleveland.
Moreno: “There are housing projects in Cleveland, that if we put illegals in those projects, we’d be sanctioned by the UN for human rights violations. I would like you to see those firsthand. These are conditions that no human, let alone an American citizen, should ever be allowed to live in. And it’s gone on, quite frankly, as you know, a lot of people make a lot of money as a result of those kinds of conditions. I’d love to have you come to Cleveland to see that firsthand.
Turner: “Absolutely.”
